AS Roma have reportedly emerged as suitors for Manchester City’s Jesus Navas, although the winger is said to be considering a return to former club Sevilla.

According to MailOnline’s Simon Jones, Navas is eager for more game time, having been pushed down the pecking order behind Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane at City, and Roma have made an inquiry about snapping him up.

Navas’ contract expires in the summer, and even if the Serie A club do move for him, he may opt to return to Sevilla, where he came through the youth academy, added Jones.

The Spain international signed for City for £14.9 million from Sevilla in 2013. He has spent most of his time at the Etihad Stadium on the fringes of the first team, making regular starts but never being a permanent fixture.

Under manager Pep Guardiola in 2016-17 he has been further pushed to the periphery, appearing in 19 Premier League games but only 11 from the start, per WhoScored.com.

He has also been used in a range of roles on the right flank, most recently—and quite effectively—being deployed as a right-back, per Squawka:

However, given the emergence of Sterling and Sane, it seems unlikely Navas will stay at City past the summer.

Meanwhile, the Sky Blues are reportedly one of a number of top clubs to have offered a contract to Schalke 04 left-back Sead Kolasinac.

Per Sky Sports, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is out of contract in the summer. City, as well as Arsenal, Everton and AC Milan, are said to have contacted him, but he has yet to decide which club to join and could even opt to remain at Schalke.

The Gunners seem to be the front-runners in the race to sign the 23-year-old, who is one of the best full-backs in the Bundesliga, per journalist Raphael Honigstein:

However, City have the financial clout to turn his head, and they are in desperate need of full-back reinforcements given that their orthodox options—Gael Clichy, Aleksandar Kolarov, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna—are all well into their 30s.
