Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to tempt Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal as the Chile international stalls on a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Yahoo France (h/t Mark Brus of Metro), the Ligue 1 champions will test the Gunners’ resolve with a £46 million bid for their prized player and will also review the possibility of signing Mesut Ozil. The Germany superstar has also not committed his long-term future to manager Arsene Wenger’s team at present.

Mark Irwin of The Sun reported Arsenal would prefer to sell Sanchez to an outfit outside of the Premier League and are prepared to “push” the forward towards Paris. Chelsea and Manchester City are both keen on signing Sanchez as they strengthen their squads in the summer.

Irwin wrote:

Wenger has not ruled out meeting Sanchez’s £300,000-a-week pay demands, but knows he wants more than money.

He has become disillusioned with the Gunners’ failure to challenge for honours since signing from Barcelona in 2014.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is leading the hunt and the chance to remain in London would be a major lure for Sanchez.

Sanchez and Ozil are Wenger’s most influential players in north London, but the Gunners have failed to mount a serious challenge in the league or Europe.

The Chilean’s form has continued to impress, scoring 19 goals in 31 Premier League appearances this term, according to WhoScored.com.

Bleacher Report UK’s James McNicholas believes Sanchez should be named PFA Player of the Year:

Sanchez has hinted he would like to remain in the English capital if he leaves Arsenal, opening the door to a switch to Stamford Bridge.

According to Sean Kearns of Metro, Sanchez recently commented:

I am happy in London and I hope to finish my contract at Arsenal.

I want to stay in a winning team and keep playing in the same city. I want to play in a team that has aspirations.

I’m 28 years old, I still have a lot ahead of me. I am a player who takes great care of himself.

Paris are desperate to add a superstar to their ranks, and they still need to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic who defected to Manchester United last summer.

Sanchez has proved his worth in the Premier League since his arrival from Barcelona, but the Gunners have regressed over the period since his signing.

Wenger will not accept his best talent joining a direct rival, allowing PSG to steal a march on Chelsea in the marketplace.
